Halloween Party ~ Day 8 and a little "Apple Bobbing"

When I think of Halloween the thought of Apple Bobbing is not to far behind.  A wonderful little Celtic tradition that most of us have experienced at one time or another.

And of course apples are not just always for bobbing!

So are apples the "new" pumpkin?

Have a blessed Monday!

  1. Bobbing for apples seems like such a fun "oldie" activity. I actually did it way back in the 60's.

At the ripe old age of 13... I thought how unsanitary it was. I just can't imagine how that would go over in this day and age... especially with this "flu" going around. (I'm just a party pooper)

I have to say that all the pictures were fun to look at, as always!

  4. Hi Sharon,

What a lovely post. It does seem like a lot of people azre decorating with apples these days. a bit softer than the bright orange. I remember good old apple bobbing. I don't know of anyone that does it anymore.

  5. Bobbing for apples! Laughing. It looks like so much fun. I've never done it. But then I got to thinking about colds and flus and germs...But then you found a pic of a clever "bob" sans water! Love the string idea! Again, you've compiled some most awesome pics! Much Halloween fun going on here. Love this party you've thrown!

  6. Sharon, I loved all of those apple arrangements you showed. I'm inspired to do something with apples, other than eat them! The apple bobbing pictures are so cute. laurie
