It is a sweet romantic, supernatural drama of a man (Eric Bana) who travels back and forth through time and finds the love of his life (Rachel McAdams). You have to pay attention to keep up but we enjoyed it.
Saturday Billie and I watched The Soloist on DVD. Robert Downey Jr plays the part of LA Times writer, Steve Lopez and Jamie Foxx plays the part of a very talented musician, Nathaniel Ayers who finds himself homeless.
It is a wonderful story based on true life events of two men and how they discover their selves and each other and a heartfelt friendship.
And then on this quiet, lazy Sunday evening Max and I curled up and watched Ramen Girl
This is a very cute movie of a young woman who is stranded in Tokyo after breaking up with her boyfriend. Searching for direction in her life, she trains to be a ramen noodle chef.
So what was in your DVD player? I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Tomorrow reality sets back in as we start packing to take our baby back to college. The summer went by way too fast!

I can't wait for the Time Travellers Wife to hit the screens in Australia. I read the book some years ago and I think Eric Bana would be perfect. This week my daughter and I have been watching Brothers and Sisters Series 1 on dvd.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the new titles Sharon! We love movies as well and I'm writing these down to view.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend we rented "Passegers" with Anne Hathaway (very good) and "17 Again" Cute! :)
Oh Sharon that is so funny, I was just looking at my Netflix and was thinking of adding The Ramen Girl to my list. Now that you saw it and liked it I'm adding it. :)
ReplyDeleteI read the book The Time Traveler's Wife. It was a bit hard to follow but I cried at the end! I loved it! I can't wait to see the movie. :)

Hi Sharon! We haven't seen Time Traveler's Wife yet. I'm planning to go with a girlfriend. My hubby kind of growled at it. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the ramen noodle movie. It sounds cute...plus I like saying the name wrong.
Hi Sharon :)
ReplyDeleteI want to see the Time Travelers Wife, but we haven't had time to watch any movies lately :(
Have a great weekend!

Hi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteI rarely go to movies unless it is a blockbuster, and has good special effects. When I lived in Dubai I went more often, because the TV selection was not terrific. The theater sold "A Cup of Corn" for a treat. I tried it once, and it was pretty terrible. You also had to make your seat selection at the window when you bought your ticket, and were escorted to your set by an usher. I had completely forgotten about this until I read your post, LOL.
