{ Impromptu Photo Shoot }

I hope y'all had a wonderful Easter!
We certainly did!!
We spent Easter weekend with Jared in NW Arkansas.
As we refer to it here; "Hog Country".

We stayed at Inn at the Mill in Johnson and the grounds were just gorgeous!
So we had a little "impromptu" photo shoot for an up coming wedding.

This is my favorite!
They almost fell back into the water
so they started giggling and really began to "ham" it up!

Yep ~ NOT gonna happen!

They are too cute and I couldn't love them more!

The sign was made by Darline at The Back Porch Shoppe.
She did an amazing job and we could not appreciate her more for her impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail.  Thank you Darline!!

Enjoy your day!

{ Quiltsurround }

On our road trip with the girlies
we ventured off into downtown Memphis to see this

At the corner of Front and Adams in downtown Memphis
is this beautiful outdoor quilt exhibit.

 "Quiltsurround"
by Sculptor and University of Memphis professor, Greely Myatt
on the side of City Hall.

Using about 700 various aluminum street signs,
Myatt created 32 panels replicating traditional quilts.

These 4 x 12 foot panels were just amazing.
And who would have thought; recycled street signs as quilt pieces?
I LOVE it!  Thank you Greely Myatt and the city of Memphis!!

Now off to Huey's for a G-R-E-A-T burger!

Next stop ~ THE BEACH  (insert happy dance)

Enjoy your day,
Sharon

Seven down and One to go

It was a very busy week around the home front last week

with a whole lot of things piled a mile high!

As we made our final jont up the pig trail.
(Yep that's what it is really called)

To join some old friends doing the same thing...

Climbing the many stairs...

to get settled in....

for another 9 months.

My baby headed back to college for one last round. Our last trip to parking and transportation for the very exclusive parking pass. Our last trip to buy season football tickets; and our last trip to the book store (until Spring of course).

I thought it would have been so much easier to call these guys

but my husband thought differently.

So now it is very quiet around here; it seems to be a bit empty and I miss her terribly! So I have to say to my blogging friends with little ones starting Kindergarten or those who have big kids beginning Junior High or High School; you know how you feel now watching them cross this mile stone? Well it doesn't get any easier. I think this one has been both exciting and difficult. The exciting part is that the goal is just about to be met. This is what she has worked so hard for and her future is beginning. The difficult part is that the reality of moving her one more time will be for more than 9 months and that's a little tough to swallow. But at the end of the day when it is all said and done I hope she realizes what a terrific woman she has become, how very proud I am of her and when she IS out on her own; where ever that may be, that mom is just around the corner because I'M MOVING!

Missing my girl ~ missing my friend!

Max's Big Adventure

Welcome to Dogs on Thursday!

Meet Max

Max is our two year old Yorkie that saved my heart two years ago today. He was a very sweet gift from my husband who could no longer watch me grieve after the loss of our other Yorkie Bubba.

This picture was taken shortly after we brought him home. He pulled this quilt on to the floor and made his nest which immediately touched my heart because this was Bubba's quilt. I knew he was meant to be with us as he was already showing his affection for quilts.

We recently went on vacation to visit my husbands family in Ohio. A road trip Max has been on before. He is not very fond of car rides but some how he manages this long journey without any problems.

After arriving at the grandparents house we took a short drive over to Tallmadge; a small quaint town.

I was immediately inspired by this sweet little Church. I see a quilt in progress ;)

Max was so hoping to go inside...

The weather was incredible; high 60's low 70's. Perfect weather for walks in the neighborhood.

After a wonderful week of quality time with family, lots of petting, belly rubbing and extra treats it was time to make the journey back home.

We had a great time, the weather was perfect, but as always it is good to be home!

Please be sure to stop by Dogs on Thursday and visit some of our other furry friends

Enjoy your day,

Sharon
