Happy Easter!

One of my favorite Easter memories as a child is of
some sugared eggs I received one year in my basket.

The little picturesque scene was just enchanting.
I would stare at it for what seemed like hours.

It was on my night stand while I slept,
on the dinner table as I ate,
and I would wrap it ever so gently in my purse and carry it with me.

And then when Easter passed, the candy was ate, I tucked it in my drawer to save it for the next year.

UNTIL
the trail of ants led my mother to it (yikes)
No longer a pretty picture!

I hope your Easter is filled with sweet "child-like" memories that you will carry with you for a life time!

Many blessings to you!

xoxo
Sharon

  2. Oh, what an unfortunate end to the pretty scene!
I remember as a teenager staying with a German family for Easter and they were trying to explain their traditions to me. I didn't quite understand the verb 'to stink' so it took a long time to figure out they were hunting for real, hard-cooked eggs, which, if not found, would only make themselves known a few weeks later when they started to reek!

  4. You know I think we all have fond memories of those. My mom used to make them! She'd cut scenes out of easter cards to glue inside with karo syrup as the glue. I loved them too.

  5. Hi Sharon, These were also part of my favorite memories. My Aunt Libby made them and sometimes I would go over to watch. I loved them and like you did not want to part with them. Happy Easter to you, Max, and your family. Thank you so much for the kind comments about Charli. It's been a very stressful week. Hopefully she is on the mend but she has vomitted two more times.

  6. I hope you had a wonderful Easter!

I had one of those eggs when I was a child - I think I broke a tooth trying to eat it :)

At least the tooth fairy came to see me...

  7. Oh Sharon, you are not going to believe this (or maybe you will believe it). I still have my childhood sugar egg with the little scene inside!!! (I really shouldn't admit that to anyone). I don't know if mother ever found any ants trying to devour it, but it is intact (I guess it's petrified now). I love those things! Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. laurie
