{ Quiltsurround }

On our road trip with the girlies
we ventured off into downtown Memphis to see this

At the corner of Front and Adams in downtown Memphis
is this beautiful outdoor quilt exhibit.

 "Quiltsurround"
by Sculptor and University of Memphis professor, Greely Myatt.
on the side of City Hall.

Using about 700 various aluminum street signs,
Myatt created 32 panels replicating traditional quilts.

These 4 x 12 foot panels were just amazing.
And who would have thought; recycled street signs as quilt pieces?
I LOVE it!  Thank you Greely Myatt and the city of Memphis!!

Now off to Huey's for a G-R-E-A-T burger!

Next stop ~ THE BEACH  (insert happy dance)

Enjoy your day,
Sharon

The Beginning of a New Years Resolution List

I so need a Christmas quilt!

I stumbled across this adorable quilt on Pinterest
made by Tanesha @ Crafty Garden Mom
It is absolutely adorable!

As a quilter for more than 7 years I am sad to say
I have yet to complete a Christmas quilt for myself.
I have definitely made plenty for others
and Max has his very own.
Just not Max's momma  :0(

I think I know what will be on my
New Years Resolution for 2012.

Merry Christmas,
Sharon

Got Quilts?

......and how do you use them?

Are you traditional and just use them on the bed?

Are you conservative and just fold and stack?

Do you share the love and display them for all to see?

Are you adventurous and take them outside?

Would you walk on them or sit on them?

Would you dine with them?

For me?
Absolutely to all the above.

I love quilts!
They can be amazing works of art
and if made with good quality materials
and if taken care of properly
they can last a many of life times.

Now who can resist a beautiful bed
with a nice comfy quilt?

Not me ;0)

Happy quilting & have an adventurous day!
