I'm Naughty I know

I've been bad ~ I realize that

I've neglected my poor blog and have abandoned

my dear blogging friends :0(

I'm so sorry

Please forgive me

I can explain.....

For two years now I have been working with an awesome group

of ladies (my bff's) on our Guild's bi-annual quilt retreat.

As co-chair the to-do list is never ending.

I swear!

With 47 days left before the big day

and 24 more days of registration

I've been a bit preoccupied!

We've been planning, plotting and scheming

gathering, sorting and sewing

but most of all

we are just down right excited!

So please forgive me as I get back to business!

Summer Time

Happy first day of Summer!

Happy Father's Day!

Fond childhood memories of small talk and fishing,

days at the beach, archery lessons

and words of wisdom.

Spending this day and every day

thinking warm, happy thoughts of my father.

Because no matter how grown-up we may be

the happy memories and

the words of wisdom

always help us get through life's rough spots.

Time Flies

Been busy as a bee here and as the ole' saying goes

"time flies when you're having fun"

And boy have I!

Lots of quilting, spring cleaning, retreat planning,

traveling and painting; on fabric that is.  I can't wait to share!

Happy Easter!

 

One of my favorite Easter memories as a child is of

some sugared eggs I received one year in my basket.

The little picturesque scene was just enchanting.

I would stare at it for what seemed like hours.

It was on my night stand while I slept,

on the dinner table as I ate,

and I would wrap it ever so gently in my purse and carry it with me.

And then Easter passed,

the candy was ate

and I tucked it in my drawer to save for the next year.

UNTIL

the trail of ants led my mother to it (yikes)

No longer a pretty picture!

I hope your Easter is filled with sweet "child-like" memories

that you will carry with you for a life time!

Bunny Business

Chocolate Easter bunnies are an Easter basket staple,

and homemade are even more fun!

What you will need:

*  Chocolate ~ Pick your own chocolate ~ milk, dark or white

*  Bunny Molds ~ Craft store, online or favorite kitchen supply store

*  Paper Clips

And let the fun begin!

1.  Melt the chocolate according to directions.  Microwaves are fine but I prefer to use a double broiler for even melting.

2.  Carefully pour chocolate into both halves of the mold.  You may need to tip the mold to get an even coat in all of the little details of the bunny's features.  Let this layer set for a while.  Then pour more chocolate inside until you reach the top of the mold.  Let them sit for a second or two so when you put both halves together you don't get an oozing chocolate mess.

3.  Clip the molds together and let them set to harden.  You can place them in the freezer to speed up the process, and it makes it easier to remove the molds.

4.  Once set, remove from the mold, use a sharp knife to trim off any excess chocolate and WAHLAH!  Some delightfully, tasty, rascally rabbits to call your own ;0)
